Example – Collect ZuluTrade Signal Provider Data
Below is an example of where to collect the data and numbers to use in our ‘ZuluTrade Risk Settings’ and ‘Compare ZuluTrade Signal Providers’ tools.
At the bottom you can select the TimeFrame, which is the period in months, 6 in this example.
The profit in pips is 1,287 for this 6 month period.
The maximum drawdown is calculated by taken the highest difference between a peak and low on the profit diagram. In this case 1,302.8 – 1,007.2 = 295.6 pips. Please note that this figure is likely to be different from the maximum drawdown figure mentioned in the statistics on the left hand side. This is because the number on the left hand side only relates to the historical maximum drawdown of open positions, while we’re interested in the overall drawdown (since this takes into account the drawdown as well after a number of losing trades). In case the drawdown figure on the left hand side is higher, than you should use that number (doesn’t happen often, though this would mean the historical drawdown intra-day would be higher than the account one, which is based on day closing positions).
The maximum open trades in the statistics table on the left is 3 in this example.
For slippage, click on the slippage tab and select the number that corresponds to your broker. Or (and even better) use the actual average slippage recorded in your broker account if you’ve already been following this Signal Provider.
